Website Update

Hello.

Well, things are really starting to move now! I talked with Martha at IUHPE and she will look into the cost and feasibility of our webpage on the main IUHPE site, as soon as I let her know what we want. This is where YOU come in-- what do you want to see or have access to?

I have been in touch with a few members of the working group and will now share what we have discussed. But first-- thank you to Torill for getting this discussion started!

OK, so what we have envisioned is just one page on the IUHPE site (maintaining the site's aesthetics) with the mission, goals and objectives (to be agreed upon in Vancouver and online) and then links to various places of interest. One key idea is that we could set up more blogs by topic and the link to those. Some ideas for possible links:

• regional student/professional sites
• topic blogs (such as Alexandra's request for info on tobacco cessation in the workplace)
• a networking, social blog
• student/research issues blog
• new professional blog (resume writing, job searches, etc.)
• announcements of events and links to those related sites
  

I also had an idea that maybe we could arrange Q & A sessions on an event blog with experts on particular topics -- like Maurice Mittelmark, David McQueen, etc. Another way of tapping into the IUHPE network.
